Friday, May 3rd, What's on your Woodworking Agenda this Weekend?

Featured Replies

Here we are starting the fifth month of the year. Wow time seems to move so fast. And what is with the weather everywhere? Some of you are experiencing snow while others are having record rain and then some experiencing wild fires. Certainly strange all across our nation.

No shop work for me this weekend. That's a bummer. I am healing after the right hand carpel tunnel surgery and rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder. See the Dr. on the 14th to see how it's doing and find out what I can do? I did manage to stay awake more yesterday but still sleeping at night in the recliner.

Had a craft show tonight, but looks like that will not happen. Rain is suppose to move in about 2:30 this afternoon.

So what about you all? What is on your woodworking agenda this weekend? Are you starting a new family heirloom, building inventory, updating the shop, making new jigs, yard work, home improvement, machine restoration, or just some R&R in the recliner(me)?

We here at TPW are always interested in what's going on in your Patriot shop. Share your projects with us and you just might inspire someone else to give it a try.

So we are watching, please start posting what you are working on.

Also show us your best worked in workshop.

Hoping to get Mimi's outdoor deck love seat assembled. It'll get assembled in the shop and then partially disassembled to get it outside. Glued/reassembled and then painted.

Glad to hear that your recuperation is going well. And, glad to hear that you won't be setting up any booths this soon!

Agenda??? Haven't had one of those for 10 years. (insert clapping hands, here)ning-clapping-13865-68.gif

I may get more doors done this weekend.

Glad to see you are on the mend, John.  You will be back in the shop in no time.

ME?  Catching up on orders and replenishing stock (not much to do there though).  Supposed to rain over here all weekend.  Glad I don't have a show this weekend.  Couldn't stand two rain shows in a row.  Can't afford it ! ! ! !

Hi John glad to see you are on the mend too! I am also happy to be able to post something here this week for hte first time in a long while.

For me, since I don't have a standing order of any kind, I am going to take a relax and build up some inventory. I sold an already made honey dipper a couple days ago, and so i got that out the door (beechwood), I will be making at least 1 more of those, and maybe some other things too.

Pictured is the one that was sold, before I shipped it though, I made the transition from the dipper end and the ball end to the handle a smooth transition instead of a bump. I just didn't like the way I did that.

Its about 6.5 inches long.

Neat Honey dipper, Charles.

Thanks Lew,

I just thought it needed to be a more flowing line instead of bumpy. If i find that people like them like this, I'll make more but I am going to need some bigger stock to work with. The only 1 1/4 wide wood I have now is Birdseye maple. The rest is all 1" or less. anyone got any 5/4 or 6/4 wood stock cutoffs that they can box for me? I'll pay for shipping and a bit for the wood if you want. I'll check ebay and see what I can find there too.

Well, Saturday I need to put the 3rd coat of finish on four flag cases and since it is Little League season, I get to weatch my grandson's first (of many) games of the season.  In between times, I'm working on my shop computer and disassembling a Unisaw.  The puter needed reformatted and Windows re-installed.

That's a lot of work for one weekend.  Most important of the ones you mentioned is going to ur grandson's game.

No argument there Fred.  Did I mention that the whole crew is coming to our house for supper on Saturday?

Making challenge coin holders this weekend.  First weekend that the weather and work schedule have both coincided so I can get some decent shop time.

Ron,

Here's a neat little program that can help install some of the everyday apps you may have been using-

http://patchmypc.net/download

Just tell it which ones you want to use and it does all the work- and it's free!
