Ok, something is amiss here.   II got the top of the sides cut to shape, so now some dado workning-sdc15037-13833-8.jpg?width=750Like the jig?   Set up a router ( it even has a cord on it) to cut thesening-sdc15038-13833-77.jpg?width=750Yes, it is a Craftsman.   Bit is a 3/8" bit, set to 3/8" depth.    This was the easy way, as long as one checks to make sure  that is is going to cut where one wants the cut.   One cut had a problem, had to reset the jig.    Back cut area will be covered by a rabbet later.    No harm-no foul?    Rabbets?    I think I might have a handplane that does thosening-sdc15041-13833-14.jpg?width=750as well as down the backs for a plywood back to sit inning-sdc15042-13833-96.jpg?width=750Nice?    Ok, sides are done, so stack them out of the wayning-sdc15043-13833-34.jpg?width=750Yes, those are washer/dryer sitting there.   Shelves for the bottom and middle needed rabbets as well, but a router took care of that.     Time for some glue & screws, and nails for the backning-sdc15045-13833-63.jpg?width=750Neede this so the top shelf could be sized to fit.    Had to rip it down to width, and mark out where the rabbets are.    These are stopped dados in the shelf, so I needed to mark where they went, AND stopped,     More router workning-sdc15044-13833-15.jpg?width=750Then glue and fasteners to attach it in placening-sdc15046-13833-60.jpg?width=750Front corners of  the bottom two shelves were eased with a beltsander,     The Top shelf was a little different.    Traced out a pattern on the edge and sanded to the line.    About a 1/2" radius, or so.

Other than a lot of sanding, this will soon be ready for paint.    THAT is someone else's job.     I just build them, i don't use paint.    maybe an afternoon of fun....

Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...

Lookin gooooood

Around here, I try to do most of the painting and staining.  When Judy does it, there seems to be more paint/stain on her and the ground/floor than on the project - but I still love her.  (big grin here)
