May 8, 201313 yr  Working over a couple boards today, kind of bored.  Wore out two planes, and last seen were taking a napThose shavings were from a 2x10's edge grain.    Getting it cleaned up a bit.    Broke out the Franken-Bailey #5 for a while.     Made a big pile of shavings, too.Almost like "See what I can do?" There is some Pine in there, and some Maple. Stretched out one of the shavingsThis plane was built from a collection of old parts, with handles made by me.  Iron is a $3 Buck Brothers from Home depot.   I think it just might be sharp enough?   Oh, and the Maple board?Used to be a Rafter in a carriage house/Garage.   Found a nice chunk WITHOUT any nails in it.    Seems it wore out the M-F #900 laying back there.    Seems I have a bunch of lazy planes in the shop... Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
