May 18, 201313 yr I started this Claro rocker sometime back while I was finishing up our Black Walnut Rocker. As you can see we have the components, now we are ready to band saw the curves into the legs, sand the seat out to finish before we glue the legs up because it's easier to work on the seat before legs are glued up to it. The headrest will be fitted after the legs are glued up, and the arms need to be cut to shape and dished. Back Braces Seat is roughed out and ready for 60 grit sanding to clean up the lines and I'll sand all the way up to finish 1200 grit before the components are glue up to the seat, the seat is the center of the fabrication process, every thing gets glue up to the seat, and built from there. I love the grain in this Claro, can you imagine how it's going to look with the finish! The arm billets, beautiful grain as well. The front legs glued up to each other, the piece in the middle is an adder, it needs to be ripped in half at 6 degrees with the legs to give the legs a splayed out effect. The headrest, coopered vertical pieces, the coopering is done at 6 degrees, the whole chair is 6 degrees where ever anything is cut at an angle.. It's easy to remember an attractive in the finished chair. Once again, the color of this Claro is amazing. Thanks for looking folks, I'll keep the pics coming as progress is made.
