May 23, 201313 yr i am going to have to stop running across the deal tools while I am off work. I am having way too much free time to look around. This Stanley Bailey No.5 came in the mail today. it looks better in person than the picture. knob and handle look great with no cracks. a little rust but not real bad. bottom looks great with no dings. I think I'm going to be real busy when I get my right arm and hand back. No I didn't give my right arm for it. so what do you think? Steve you got me looking around for these things now. May 23, 201313 yr Nice looking 5. Should make you a good user.Good, Better, Best never let it restTill your Good is Better and your Better is Best.
May 23, 201313 yr John that is a great plane in as is condition. Good find!!!!!!! I love the label on the handle too, those are not often found in place. The "C" series I think look really cool, the corrugation was more of a marketing hook, but it looks cool. So cool I got the LN No.8Â with a C bottom.Have fun with it John, clean it up just a little, leave all the nice patina on it, and use it! Great find!!!John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops and Wounded Warriors Project

May 23, 201313 yr Author Thanks John. I love the patina on it. I can't wait to touch it up a bit, sharpen the blade and see the fine ribbons from it. I don't think I will do much other than just some clean up. John Morris said:John that is a great plane in as is condition. Good find!!!!!!! May 23, 201313 yr Looks good now!  A lot of the planes i get, I rehab them and then sell, just to be able to buy MORE planes.   I do keep ones that I like, or can use.  Multiples get culled, a lot.   VERY slippery slope!  Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
