Friday, May 24th, What's on your Woodworking Agenda?

Featured Replies

Here we are at Memorial Day Weekend. As we start this weekend that kicks off the summer season, lets not forget the reason we celebrate this holiday. Stop and remember those that gave their lives protecting this country and the freedoms we so take for granted today. They took up arms and stepped forward making sure our freedoms were preserved. Not thinking of themselves or family, they served and in many cases gave their life for people they never knew, had not even been born yet to ensure we could do the things we enjoy each and every day.

Take a moment, stop and just say Thanks!

For those currently serving or those that have finished their tour of duty, we stop and say, Thank You for your unselfish service.

For me no shop time yet. Still on the mend and can't move the right shoulder yet. Three more weeks and then back to the dr. To see about starting therapy.

Lots of projects waiting on me when I get back to a state of right arm movement. I have even picked up a few new ones this week as I have shared with you. I am learning so much about this tool restoration I had no idea about. I missed a couple of parts I needed just because I didn't realize how fast they get scoffed up. I'm learning and have a great teacher.

So what about all of you? What's on your agenda this weekend, woodworking, yard work, jig building, shop renovation, tool renovation, shopping, eating, resting, eating some more, HDL, eating or going to the beach, lake or pool? You know we here at TPW love to hear about the projects you are working on. Share them with us and post pictures telling us about the project.

I'll be checking to see what you all have planned so get started posting. If your new, jump in and share with us, we are really nice folks.

Have you posted anything yet? What are you waiting on?

Sunday my son, my neighbor (an Army recruiter) and I are going to visit Indianapolis along with 250,000 of our closest friends.  We'll be attending the Indy 500.  If it warms up Monday I need to open my pool.

Today was a beautiful day here in North Alabama.

My wife was spreading mulch around the shrubs. About all I am able to do right now is pick up the empty bags. I was a little embarrassed to be out with her doing the work and me carrying empty bags,

ning-img-0625-13137-40.jpgWe got a pallet of mulch at Lowe's this morning and had to go back for seven more bags.

But I thought it looked great when she ws finished.

It looked like some heavy weather headed that way towards the end of the race.

Doors on fridge switched from left handed to right handed, done

ALL the old shavings and other junk cleaned off the floor of the Dungeon Shop, Done

Hit head twice, carrying the tubs full of junk out of there.  Swept the floor, too.

Found some lumber stashed behind other junk.    hauled the Buzz Lightyear car out of the basement, found the battery for it, AND the charger.    battery is now on the charger.    No more Blue car in my shop pictures.

Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...

When I had my right shoulder done back in the late 90s,   it was 11 weeks before I could go back to work.

They called it "Therapy",   I called it  my Three Times a week Mugging.

Left shoulder has been getting a "catch" in it lately.     Caused by hanging inside a molding machine and picking out blobs with the left arm.
