May 25, 201313 yr  ala Patrick Leach of Blood & Gore. That "thing" weighs in at about ten pounds!   Sorry patrick, I don't have any "Plaid shirts" in the house. That iron/cutter is 2-5/8" wide!   Edge was out of square by about a 1/16th'' so i had to redo the iron's edge.   drug out the toolsLeather belt as a strop, 1000 grit wet or dry paper, and a 20+ yr old oil stone. Wire brush in the drill press to clean off the dirt and rust.   Then, something new!   A small can of Turtle Wax Metal Polish. Wipe it on, scrub things down with a purple 3M pad, then wipe of with a paper towel.  Plane's sides and sole got the treatmentShould have seen it before.   Rust was setting in. Took some "orange cleaner spray" and wiped away all the remaining dirt/dust/junk.  Drop of oil on some threads, and put it all back together.    Test drive on some Black Walnut edge grainAnd made some Moxxon TPThen tried a block planeon the same plank.  Just showing off......
