Friday, May 31st, What's on your Woodworking Agenda?

Featured Replies

Okay it is actually Saturday morning and I am just now doing this post. I guess not working and a short week threw me off. But here we are anyway so we still got the weekend.

My youngest son has been busy in the shop this week filling an order for a Green Egg table. They will be here tomorrow to pick it up. He has it all done but the wheels and cutting the whole in the top for the Green Egg. I will help him with those, or show him what to do. Still in the shoulder brace so not much help from me.

My older son and my wife got a new tree and some sod down in the yard to replace a dogwood tree that gave it up. It was here when we moved in 20+ years ago.

So that is about it here, what about at your shop? What's on your woodworking agenda, will it be finishing up a project, starting a new project, home improvement, HDL, tool restoration, shop update or just some recliner time(I'm tired of the recliner)? You know how it goes, we here at TPW are interested in your projects and love when you share them with all of us. You might just inspire another Patriot to give it a try.

So here I am sitting here waiting to see what you are going to share with us.

We love pictures so post lots of pictures.

What are you waiting for, post that project!

Working on drying the bowl blank using the Microwave method, while Mimi is out getting her hair done. Hope I can get stuff cleaned up before she gets home and sees the kitchen!!

John, my latest project is my son's project.  Yesterday we started a siding job on his house but it isn't just any siding job.  we are removing the aluminum siding and the Cellotex and the insulation.  We're re-installing new R15 insulation, OSB, wrapping the house with Tyvek, adding foam board and then re-siding with vinyl.  Think we'll be busy this week?  in my spare time i have to prepare a bible study for Tuesday night and work on keepsake boxes for a July show.  whew, I'm already tired.

My shop/garage is starting to get a number of large tubs and boxes from my wife's classroom as Monday is the last day for students. Usually this would ruffle my feathers but since I am still in my shoulder sling and no woodworking happening until sometime in July it is fine. My wife starts the summer school program the following week for 4 weeks so I will be helping here with getting things ready for it. Our son and daughter in law are in the processing of getting their lives squared away for a move from California to Indianapolis the end of June so things are a bit hectic. I am waiting very impatiently for June 18th a that is when I see my surgeon and will be released to finally start physical therapy. I already got my initial consult appointment set up with the physical therapy office for June 19th and all the insurance pre-notified and approved. I learned when I had all my back surgeries that if you wait until the last minute you may not get into the therapy place that you want. Today my wife and I are hanging out doing some shopping and then we get to work on her school stuff.

Allen, I'm pleased that there will be a Wosham in the great state of Indiana.  It's colder here but much more sane that the left coast.  Bet we make a Colts fan out of them.

Made some BB drawers with the new I Box. Sweet!

Glued them up and sanded them this morning.

Install the glides and drawers this afternoon.

Haven't bought the pulls for the drawers and doors, yet. Can't decide whether to use all the same round knobs for the doors and drawers or, knobs on the doors and matching 3" on center pulls on the doors.

Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...

This will be only a few months in Indianapolis as the job (roofing company) operates in 3 states and they moves between Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee during the storm seasons. They hope to finally land in either the Louisville, KY or Nashville, TN areas as they have friends in those areas and my daughter in law has family in Tennessee. There is an outside possibility they would end up in northern Arkansas near Fayetteville as my son's old company where he used to do their HR/Payroll is working towards consolidating these services centrally in Arkansas as opposed to the 3 different states where they currently have individual centers in the next 12-18 months. This is a long and involved story so I will have to give you a call or visa-versa and give you details. They dropped the bomb on us at church last Sunday between services so we were a tad shocked. As for making them into Colts fans, the only sport that they are both fans of is hockey. My son is a Ducks fan and my daughter in law is a Kings fan so my son gets a lot of smack from his wife since the Kings won the Stanley Cup last year and the Ducks did not make it out of the first round of the playoffs this year.
