June 19, 201313 yr I would love to have a slab of that burl say 3/4 to 1" thick lol I'll have to cruise on over to the Facebook page too
June 20, 201313 yr Very impressive. What are they using to cut that redwood slab that is standing up? The wood mizer LT 50 will do 36" diameter. I believe that is larger than 36".
June 20, 201313 yr Author John, I believe they are using this beast here. This is what they have in their facebook photo album, so I am assuming this is there newest beast of a saw for this purpose. June 21, 201313 yr Hi John,The blade on this one is a 2", although this beast will take a 3" blade. We are using 7/8 toothspacing on this blade, but also like the 1 1/8 as well. It is 386" long and we do resharpen them. The one shown in the images is actually not the one we are using to cut the big slabs... but it is the same model. The one in the image above is one we just installed at another company up farther in Northern CA. They too will be milling some big logs. Wood-Mizer provides a free install and training on our larger industrial line.Jenn
June 22, 201313 yr All I can say is WOW what a beast Welcome to the forum Jenn we hope you enjoy your time here.
