June 19, 201313 yr This has been the slowest build I've ever undertaken. Anyhoo here is pedestal #1 of 3 it needs the three holes in the top for the piping to pass down through into the guts of the brewery but the steel welded mounts are all done and metal flake painted along with the pedestal and the top is carved and inlaid with metal flake Check 'em out Link  Some pics
June 19, 201313 yr Cliff that is awesome man, what are the brackets for? err I should ask, how do those mounts fit into the big picture?
June 19, 201313 yr Author what are the brackets for? Oh you didn't see? I Painted 'em blue metal flake and they are made to contain and mount the SST three-way valves. Look on top of the pedestal.
June 19, 201313 yr Ohhhhhh!!!! I get it, sorry. Very nice!!!Cliff said:what are the brackets for? Oh you didn't see?I Painted 'em blue metal flake and they are made to contain and mount the SST three-way valves. Look on top of the pedestal.

June 22, 201313 yr Author  What are you going to brew in that thing?  Beer~!! I'm a hobby brewer. I've been designing an all electric brewery to be run by a computer for a while now.  It'll have Four SST vessels : 2 twenty gallon pots, One 1.5-gallon Navel Brominator converted to RIMS unit ( inline heater) and one 15 gallon conical fermenter. The brew pot (Kettle) I have drilled for two Inconel water heater elements plus I made a custom racking dip tube to take the wort off from different heights in the water column. Plus it's drilled for piping in and out put to the Mash tun and the Fermenter The other pot (Mash Tun where the barley malt is converted) is set up with a false bottom and three ports one to draw fluid off to recirculate it through the RIMS unit and to the kettle. I've got two high temperature pumps and a slew of piping.  I've built the rough table for the pots and pumps and electronics, but not finished it yet.  It'll be tiled on top and sides painted black with blue metal flake. There'll be a drawer for the pumps and electronics. I've got the water supply the drain and the electricity all ready to go.
June 23, 201313 yr Cliff, Not to change the subject - but I guess I will. Â Â I especially liked the tapered legs on the blue container. Â Did you make a jig for making those tapered legs? Â SQÂ
June 23, 201313 yr Author No jig. I just laid my blade over at a specific angle and cut the stavesAny taper you see is an artifact of the camera or maybe angle of the shot. The pedestals are straight.
June 23, 201313 yr Cliff,Thanks for the answer  I did think they were tapered.SQCliff said:No jig. I just laid my blade over at a specific angle and cut the stavesAny taper you see is an artifact of the camera or maybe angle of the shot. The pedestals are straight.
July 6, 201313 yr Author Got the little maple rings to finish the three holes I drilled in the pedestal/valve mounts to port them for the piping. Maple rings finished in black with blue metal flake under clearcoat.
July 6, 201313 yr getting thirstier and thirstier!!Cliff said: Got the little maple rings to finish the three holes I drilled in the pedestal/valve mounts to port them for the piping. Maple rings finished in black with blue metal flake under clearcoat.
