June 25, 201313 yr  Table will get tapered legs.  So time to mark out a side of a legThe shorter mark is the bottom of the oak aprons and the "main mark" is 1" below that.   Went to the other end of the leg ( the foot??)Ok, anything above that line will go.  Line is 1" up from the edge.  Grabbed a straightedgeYeah, that big silver thingy there.   The sander is for sharpening only. Anyway, connect the two "points" on the legand get ready to plane the waste off. That's anything above that line.   Clamped it in the vise so I could go at the foot firstThe idea is to start down here and establish the taper.   Seems to be going slow??? Ah, wrong jack planeNeeded this one, with that cambered iron.  Worked my way back up the leg, checking on the layout lines.  Got things close, but had some dippity-dos.   So, got the big guy outUntil it made a nice full shaving along the leg.  As for people like Morris who like doing things with a #4I can clean up any plane marks.   No need for any sanding, either.  Next, carry the lines aroundAs I have a second taper to do. Foot areawill be 1" square. I just repeat the above steps, until the second face is smoothly tapered.  Taper starts 4-1/2" from the top of these 26-1/2" long legs.  Need to find some drawer parts, and size them for a front drawers.    Rest of the aprons are 1/2" QSWO.  Might use one of the raised panels as a drawer front???  Single Brain Cell working as a "Sketchup Designer", takes awhile.....
