Hello everyone, my name is Chris and I'm a woodworker.

I also work at a Woodcraft store, yeah it "sucks" to be me.

Also I'm a re-enactor, I re-enact two different eras. The first is 1630's Scotland and the second is American Airborne during world war 2 (502nd PIR).

Well that's me in a nutshell.

And what a nutshell it is Chris!!!!!! What a wonderful thing you got going on!!!!! 1630's is very interesting! What do you do to bring that era alive?

Wow, that is cool Chris. I know some folks that do the Civil War but I have never heard of the ones you are doing. That is awesome.

I would have a hard time working at WoodCraft. I would have my payday spent before I got it.

Well  I belong to 2 different groups the 1st one I joined I had too, the wife was part of the 1630's group she got me in to this hobby. That group has done mostly Renascence Fairs, and Fur trade/Mountain man era Rendezvous and Scottish Heavy Games. We are a mercenary regiment of Scotts fighting for a Swedish King (Gustavus  Adolfus) to fight in the German kingdoms. We educate the public on the life of the average person in the 1630's, the way that the armies fought and what they eat and what they wore.

The WW2 group is also like the other one. We do this to show what it was like for the average airborne solider during ww2. We have the gear, combat and other. We do a lot of airshows, and historic displays for the public. This group is reenacting Fox company of the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne.

Both groups are a blast.

Another thing about reenacting is you would be suspired as to what eras are reenacted, everything from Ancient Roman right up to Vietnam War.

As for working at Woodcraft yeah sometimes it is hard not to spent the whole paycheck, but I have a mortgage and other bills, so for the most part I don't do that. Plus the wife would kill me if I did and then she would get to use the stuff that I bought, she is a theater tech.

Hey Chris, sorry for not asking earlier, but which Woodcraft store do you work at!

I work at the one in  Bloomington Minnesota.

Sorry Chris I just noticed that I never officially gave you a welcome, although I did reply :)

I have never had a chance to do any  re-enacting but it sure sounds fun. As for working at WoodCraft, I have a feeling that I would be like the others and have the paycheck spent before I even left the store.

Hi Chris!

I've always enjoyed visiting the WWII re-enactor section of the air shows. I really like to see the technology and conditions of that time.
