July 9, 201313 yr Welcome back Fred!!!! My son and I installed two interior doors on Saturday in our home, we have a had a stack of doors sitting in our shop for a couple years just waiting for me to get em in. We had a total of 8 doors to do, we are down to two more left to go now. It felt good getting something tangible done around the ol home, we have not had anything new to look at for a few years, it's nice, and mama was very happy! John MorrisThe Patriot Woodworker
July 9, 201313 yr I can relate to that John. We finished a shower in the downstairs indoor plumbing for the Worsham's and Dudelston's to be able to use while here. Mama was really happy it got finished. just over three years in the working process.John Morris said: Welcome back Fred!!!! July 9, 201313 yr Made a couple of sticks myself (no pics) but other than that I have been just waiting for the new headstock to arrive which I hope will arrive about Thursday or Friday. We shall see.Yea the headstock decided to blow bearings again and Joe at PSI says thats not normal so he is replacing it under warranty.I still have to send the old one back which will probably cost me some money but its better htan the alternative. So that was my weekened I hope others had better. Charles Nicholls Site Host nicholls61@att.net Proud supporter of The Wounded Warrior Project, Homes For Our Troops and the NRA http://www.etsy.com/shop/nichollswoodworks
July 11, 201313 yr I'll tell ya what, I have kind of been on a downer with our home the past few years, the down turn in our economy put us underwater, our entire area got hit really bad. We have refused to move, even though we owe more then it's worth, we just didn't feel that it was morally right to bail out if we can afford the home, and we can. Just because we got hung up in the downturn, doesn't mean the bank shouldn't get it's money back from us, we borrowed it knowing the risks, it is what it is. But even though, I have been a tad depressed about our home, and have not paid the proper attention to it over the last 3 or so years, getting those doors in really got me motivated once again to get our home pretty and fixed up. So I am on a home improvement crusade as of late. I hope to get a lot of work done in it over the next 12 months. My wife is excited, and the kids were beaming with the new doors in the home. It just set a nice mood over the homestead. We thank God we have a roof, a job, healthy and bright kids, and great friends, if being underwater is the only complaint we have in life, I would consider us in very good shape. Stand by folks for some home improvement posts from yours truly in the near future. I have two more doors to install, I'll get some good pics of the installs this time for future door installers here. Life is good.John Moody said: I can relate to that John.
