Friday, July 19th, What's on Your Woodworking Agenda This weekend?

Featured Replies

Finished up my therapy on my shoulder today and now it is back to the Dr. to see if I have more therapy or return to normal operations. I would guess I am about 50% right now. Still now a lot of strength and the movement is still somewhat limited.

So no woodworking for me this weekend in the shop but I will be concentrating on getting some more maintenance done on my machines. Now is a good time to tune them up and oil and put grease on the things that need it. Also waxing the tools that need a good coat of wax. Sure makes the boards slide across with a lot less effort.

Also hoping to get a little help in the shop this weekend and get my new blade guard/dust collector installed. I would like to give it a try to see how it is going to work.

That is my agenda, what's on your agenda this weekend? Will you be working in the shop, home improvement, lawn and garden work, painting, HDL, or getting some time in the recliner in front of the large screen TV waiting on College Football to return in 43 days? You know we here at TPW are interested in the projects you are doing and we love to see the pictures and hear about your process. Post to pictures and projects in the forums and share you process with us. You never know you might just inspire someone else to give it a try.

So if you are working on a new or old tool please share it with us. We love to hear about all of those things.

So what are you waiting for, we are looking for your comments and pictures now!

Segmented turning glue up and maybe some house painting, if the temperature goes below 90.

Yea I have a bottle stopper that a client wanted me to make, I'll get that finished and ready for mailing. Then it's pens galore for a while until something else comes up. I have no less than 10 pen kits that need to get done. one is a higher end pen that has been waiting for a year to get done :) time to roll it out :).

Here's that bottle stopper blank. The client saw the one like it that I sold on Etsy, and wanted one like it so I ordered the blank and got started on it a few days later after it arrived. I actually ordered 2 blanks just in case 1 didn't work out, and I am glad I did, because one of the blanks hardly has any spalting on it at all which would not have worked out.

Putting the last coat of finish on a pair of Amish side tables.  One for mama and one to sell at a show next weekend.

Working on my vfw sign and maybe one for the ladies auxillery too.

Had to mow the yard this morning, with the new $40 mower.    "Jake" didn't like the mower going over his house, and left (I hope) the area.    Just a 12" long~ black snake.

Might finish up the barn siding today.....

That's it from here for this weekend, I didn't get to do any pens because of being ill again, but perhaps during the week I can get a few done. I actually cut the blanks for 3 total so I hope to at least get that many. How about the rest of you?

Thanks all it really did. I think end grain issues still are the biggest problem I have when it comes to maple :)
