Tiki bird

Featured Replies

My daughter wanted me to build a bird house for her. She manages a Tiki bar in FL, I thought I'd make her a Tiki birdhouse. I looked at some pictures on Google and took some features from a few of them. The center hole in the head dress is real, the others are fake. I shipped it out last week and she should be getting it anytime now.ning-photo1-10886-28.jpg?width=750

Ron,

One unique bird house, for sure. Very nice. I'll bet she enjoys it. You might get some orders for those.

Tell us how you made the teeth and eyes.

It is carving, bandsaw carving. I use an eigth inch blade on a 10" (old) Sears saw and use belt sanders to shape the finer surfaces and rounded edges. I ve done about 20 different ones, I'll post a few more.
