 Still a work in progress.   Found a jack plane sized chunk of beech in the scrap pile.   Cleaned  it up, squared the sides and top and bottom up..   About 15" long.   Still debating a few details, like:



iron works?   or just a wedge?

Took a long time of grinding and sanding.    Still have to drill it, as soon as I figure out what type of fastener I will be using.   Front knob will be used, I think.   the blank for the body has some character marks.....



Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
