August 20, 201312 yr my Delta Rockwell 12-14 tilting arbor table saw would like an updated fence and rail system. Factory rails allow for 32" right of the blade.I need 48 plus but the top is 38" deep. Any suggestions on something reasonably priced. Thanks Lewis

August 20, 201312 yr Lewis, what is reasonably priced for ya? I have a 12" TS with a 52" Biesmeyer Fence, when I bought it I think I paid around 400 bucks for it. It's the best fence on the market IMHO. Then there are some Biese clones out there for around 250 on up. What do you feel comfortable with as far as price? Thanks Lewis! August 20, 201312 yr Author Biesmeyer has sown up the market. I paid 600 for the 7hp 3ph beast of a saw, so 400 more for a new easier fence and longer rail is still a good bargain.I guess the investment will be worth it. Thanks
August 20, 201312 yr Today those fences are around 500 now. Your big ol Delta deserves a fine fence like a Beis. I drove a 12/14 7hp 3ph just like yours when I worked in Seaworld carpenter maintenance shop. I loved that saw!
August 20, 201312 yr I have a Vega fence on my saw. Here's a link that may be helpful http://www.vegawoodworking.com/ Lew Kauffman-Wood Turners Forum HostTime Traveler and Purveyor of the Universe's Finest Custom Rolling Pins!
August 21, 201312 yr If you are inclined you can build a DIY Bies clone and improve on the Bies design to boot. You have a welder don't you?http://techtalk.parts-express.com/showthread.php?211244-Biesemeyer-cloneSome pics of the Bieshttp://lumberjocks.com/topics/35244https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bw9Iw9iDzIF7OTcxYTk4YTQtYWI4MS00ZmM4LTgyYjktYzg3OTE1Y2UwYmU3/edit?hl=en_US&authkey=CIfals8EOne thing I really like about the Felder / Altendorf/ Martin / Format and Hammer style fences is the ability to remove the fence and flip it from low profile to high profile as well as to slide the fence back so that you can have it end anywhere along the blade you want. The latter being very useful for thin rips.
