OK here is a problem I have and would love you guys to give me your thoughts an ideas. this leash board below is one I made for an organization called paws4vets. however the board was supposed to go to the training center they have but the founder decided he liked it and wanted to use it for another place with a lot of dogs (his, which was fine because he needed one also ). In retrospect the one for the training center need refining anyways lol. I would like to make one similar to this but to have a way for each peg to be labeled somehow. There are always many dogs at the center and some handlers can stay there for days. each dog has a leash, harness and a vest.SO looking for some advice on how to make it that there is a way to

1- have a way to have name tags to each peg that can be changed out if necessary.

2- be able to hang all three pieces of equipment on peg with out them falling off, maybe hooks instead?

Any ideas are very welcomed the can be up to  twenty  dogs at center and can be up to 8 people there at once.

Paws4vets is a organization that provides free service dogs to  vets/ their family members and EMTS/Firefighters/cops and paramedics. the dogs are trained from the time they are six weeks old to around 2 years of age before given to a handler here is their web site if you are interested.

If you have access to a table saw (or router) maybe you could create some little strips of wood with and angled side. Then using 2 pieces, glued/fastened parallel to each other on your display/hanging board, form a little channel into which you could slide name tags. Here's a rough idea-

The little pieces wouldn't need to be very thick or wide. You might be able to make them in long strips and cut them to the length desired. As for hanging multiple items per dog, maybe just longer pegs.

Just my 2¢

rout a shallow grove with a dovetail bit. the slight angle on the edge is perfect for holding strips of heavy paper.

Get some small brass circles and stamp the number in one and use a screw to attach it to the plaque. then use another one with the same number to attach it to the leash it goes too.  a sign out sheet on a clipboard next to it will help make sure they get back to the rack where they belong.

Well you could put a wood ball  at the end of e each peg.

Google wood balls  There's lots of them you can get cheap.
