West Liberty, OH was having a Tractor Fest over this weekend.  There were almost a mile of stalls of people selling almost anything ning-sdc15726-9694-48.jpg?width=750This is one stall.  There are even a couple tree lined creeks running through this Lion's Park area.  This seller was asking very high prices for what he hadning-sdc15729-9694-55.jpg?width=750Yep, that is  a Stanley #7, from the late 60s/early 70s, painted handles and all, wanted $45 for it...pass.ning-sdc15728-9694-51.jpg?width=750Stanley #80 scraper @35?    passed again.  Others were selling the same for a bit less, but prices seemed to have been fixed at about the same too high level.   Note:  I bought one of these last year for $5.   ning-sdc15730-9694-63.jpg?width=750Wound up buying a Great Neck block plane, with an adjustable mouth, for $5.    Those red plastic bins were full of tools of all sorts.   Even had a WWII e-tool!  Saw a few other items while putting a mile on these new boots I had bought the other dayning-sdc15733-9694-69.jpg?width=750Hammers, anyone?  Not too sure about them "Tractors" , thoughning-sdc15734-9694-5.jpg?width=750"Close yer eyes, Mabel!  Thar be a big woodie without it's "knickers""  And a hollow and a round plane too.  The two rusties, plane look alikes?   Way too much cash for them.   the box in the back is for auger bits, and the closer one was for an oil stone, well worn oil stone.ning-sdc15735-9694-96.jpg?width=750Just because it says Diamond edge on a plane, does not mean it is made of gold, and that little Craftsman block plane?  $25???    come on!   Passed on by...ning-sdc15736-9694-55.jpg?width=750Two vises to hold your saws, while you sharpen them@ $20 each.  Same seller had a box of about 20 saw sets, too.   Had a pair of metal spokeshaves, for about the same price.   Sorry, have some of my own.ning-sdc15738-9694-50.jpg?width=750Timber shavers?   Called Adzes, too much work for me.  These were straight edged ones, without the turned up ends on the edges.   I guess they needed a light to see by?ning-sdc15737-9694-58.jpg?width=750Cracked bodies, no irons even, well one did have it's wedge yet.   Didn't even ask how much.   Did buy a rusty American Boy block plane (VERY rusty) for $3 at the next stall.  



Someone even had made a lamp out of an old muzzle loader shotgun....Did see the Moody-mobile parked down there. maybe he could smell the rust from his place?ning-sdc15731-9694-9.jpg?width=750Might ride a bit rough, though...



LOTS of old tools and old tractors, even had a parade of the tractors, some even pulled floats.   Place is open all weekend til monday night.    Corner of St. Rt. 245, and US 68...@ West Liberty, OH.  




Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...

OH DEAR LORD!!! 45 bucks for a no.7 jack plane in primo condition and 22 bucks for a scraper plane??? Those 2 are a steal!!!


And by the way, i'd have paid 30 bucks each for those adze.

Get yer butt in gear,  and "Road Trip "  over here!     They are open til monday night.   Be prepared to walk yer butt off, LOT of vendors, almost a mile of them!

I'd love too, lol.  Got my softball teams championship party today.  We're gonna have to hook up on one of those tool days.

I just got back from our team party.  we won the championship for our league and I was voted MVP too.
