As for me and mine - absolutely nothing to do with woodworking.  Spent a greeat weekend camping at Atlanta Motor Speedway - Judy and I and my middle son and his wife and two grand dogs.  Fantastic time.

Wonderful time you had there Fred!!!! Nice picture too!!!

I am coming down the homestretch on two of the three pine cabinets, the third one has to be built in place. Got the interior of the cabs done with Amber Shellac, then I kneed to paint the exterior of the cabinets white. I also raised the panels for the cabinet doors and I undercoated them to get ready for paint.

Today, I did not do squat! First day off in a long time!!! Just me and the family. I cooked our favorite chili and I baked corn bread and made hamburgers for our Labor Day meal. Now we are just kicking back, getting ready for work tomorrow, and school. Hope all had a wonderful safe long weekend!

Spent all weekend with family. It was great.

Back in the shop today.

It must be a family weekend.  I spent Saturday with the kids and grandkids and basically loafed after church on Sunday.  I had the same thing planned for Labor Day until about 3 PM when my daughter called wanting me to help my Son in law change their water heater out that decided to spring a leak.  Wasn't too bad except it was plumbed with PEX and I had to buy a $90 crimper.  Oh well, at least I now have a PEX crimping tool.

rested the left heel.   spuris growing there.

Got two block planes restored to like new..

haul three loads of shavings, scraps, and other wood-like junk out of the Dungeon Shop and off to the backyard's fence it went.   Hey, compost happens, right?

Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...

Friday I picked up my trailer from the shop. I loaned it out and when it came back they had hung the jack stand on something and bent it out of place.

ning-img-0370-9609-15.jpgSo I took it to the shop and got it welded back like it was suppose to be.

Didn't get any work done on Saturday, spent the day with my mother, brother and uncle taking them to some of the old home places.

But I did stop off at an estate sale and picked up a bucket of rusty items.

ning-img-0824-9609-33.jpg

Sunday afternoon I got in the shop and spent a good bit of time and got six cutting boards in the first glue up.

ning-img-0820-9609-85.jpgAnd while they were drying I cut out 10 bread dipping boards and got them ready to round over the edges and final sanding.

ning-img-0818-9609-46.jpgMonday I got the boards planed, cut and into the End Grain Glue up.

ning-img-0822-9609-62.jpgSorry I forgot to take a picture after I did the glue up.

That was about it for me. No much going on.

Yep, new trailer. I don't think they cranked the jack up all the way and when they hit a low spot it bent it back. The good part was that the jack wasn't hurt, it would still crank up and down.

They offered to fix it but I wanted to go ahead and get it done and not be waiting on someone that I didn't know how they would fix it and maybe mess up more than what was done.

It happens.

John sorry to hear about your trailer, glad you got it worked out. Hopefully not too painful.

Nice work on that sign, Wayne. Where did they hang it?

John,

Did that on my own trailer. Had it loaded with plywood and lumber. Probably a mite too far fwd of the axles. Sucked the back end of my 150 down too far. Tried to navigate a low water bridge. Crunch!
