A Patriot Woodworker Steps Up to The Plate to Serve our Veteran's

Featured Replies

I am so proud of our members. When called upon, we can always count on someone, or many to show up for the show, and help out the men and women who served our nation.

Awhile back we put out a calling to one or some woodworkers to help out at the Warrensburg Veterans Home in Missouri. See original post HERE.

Melissa Wilson, one of the coordinators at the Warrensburg Veterans home emailed us and asked us if we had anyone who could come in and put on a show for our vets with their woodworking skills. Shortly after I posted the request here on TPW, one of our own Patriot Woodworker's TJ Brown contacted me and he stepped up to the plate and took it on.

6334_1082354825846_5730345_n.jpgTJ Brown above in the photo, is a woodworker from Fort Smith Arkansas and he is heading out to the shindig on the 14th of this month. He and his wife are touring the area with their trailer and scroll sawing gear loaded up and they are going to make a few stops in various locations, but no doubt the highlight of their trip will be rubbing elbows and entertaining our veterans from our past wars from WWII to current. There are veterans ranging in age from 101 years old to 40 years of age.

TJ exemplifies what we are all about here at The Patriot Woodworker, we are so very proud to have him at the Family Day Party for the vets and we cannot thank him enough for his efforts.

TJ is a scroller and a sawmiller. And he is obviously an activist for our vets.

You can find TJ also at his Facebook Page

and of course you can find him here at The Patriot Woodworker by clicking on his image above to go to his page.

I'd like to give a big shout out to TJ, and thank him for taking this job on, we are very appreciative TJ for your efforts, and thank you sir for your work in advance, with our veterans.

THANK YOU!!!!!

Below are some images from the Veterans Home where TJ and his wife will be demonstrating the craft of scrolling.

What a wonderful thing to do and what a Beautiful Scroll saw piece of art you made for them.

It is a wonderful thing he is undertaking Dennis. I just thought I'd disclose on behalf of TJ, that beautiful Eagle he is holding was a past project not intended for this event. But I guarantee ya if he had the time and advanced notice, he'd probably come up with something I do not doubt!

Thank you----

No thanks is necessary guys. Getting to meet these vets is a honor for me. My dad was a WWII vet and some of my favorite memories are from going to the VA hospital with him when he had a appointment and getting to visit with some of the vets.

Your right TJ No Thanks is necessary but I'll bet it's appreciated, and I'll also bet your Dad appreciated it. Hero's also think that they just did what they did and don't think they were a Hero but they are.
