September 19, 201312 yr We have at work an old 18" Crescent wood jointer, and it runs like a top. Â We hardly use it any more and would like to either sell or scrap it. Â I think the only thing wrong with it is the blades could be removed and sharpened, because it leaves chatter marks on the edges of the boards. Â If anyone is local to Sheboygan Falls, WI, you're welcome to come look at it.Thanks!
September 19, 201312 yr Bob, That's a sweet old machine, wish I had room for it. Â Larry Old Woodworking Machinery Forum Host
September 19, 201312 yr Wish I was closer. Chatter marks sounds like one or more of the blades is not set to the correct height.John MoodySite AdministratorJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
September 20, 201312 yr How much for the jointer? Awesome old machine. Ive rebuilt a 26" Crecent bandsaw. Would be fun to restore it this one to.
September 20, 201312 yr Author I'm no guru on old woodworking gear  500 bucks sound reasonable? I'm open to suggestions on what gear like this is worth.  We also have an old Mattison rip saw that the drive belt broke on. That runs great too save for the belt.  Also for consideration is a big Delta shaper with a nice autofeeder on it. If anyone is interested in that, I can take pics and get a model #  Thanks!danny hagge said: How much for the jointer? September 21, 201312 yr Please don't scrap it, they are great jointers! Here's mine ... before I got the head back in it. A few years older than years but it was in a lot worse shape when I got it.
September 25, 201312 yr 500.00 seems fair, im quite far away, Vancouver Canada. If the shipping is manageable id be interested. How much would you estimate the weight is? Also could you load a few more pictues?
