September 23, 201312 yr I ran across a couple of Stanley wooden levels this week. These were just too awesome. Both were in very good condition, no twist or warp and both vials on each one work and are good. The one in the back is 30" long. It has this trade mark. This is the closest trade mark I have been able so far to find. On the end of the level it has a 0 stamped. There was a small amount of paint on this end. I haven't done anything to remove the paint yet. The smaller one is 24" long. and just above the brass plate it has the number 3 stamped into the wood. The patent dates on this one are 6-2-91 and 6-23-96. Both have some usual dents and nicks but nothing really bad. I felt extremely luck to get both of these. Since they are so nice, they will go in the display cabinet. John MoodySite AdministratorJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
September 23, 201312 yr Author Not a Stanley, but a Peerless that I purchased in 1978. I was putting in a swimming pool at the time. Needed a level. Of course I needed a lot of things cause I had never put an in ground pool in before. It was 18x36 and we used it for a long time till we moved. September 23, 201312 yr That Peerless looks exactly like the Stanely wood levels that were available up until a few years ago. Did you buy that one new at the time?John Moody said: Not a Stanley, but a Peerless that I purchased in 1978. I was putting in a swimming pool at the time. Needed a level.
