Friday, October 4th, What's on Your Patriot Woodworker Agenda This Weekend?

Featured Replies

Wow have I had a push this past week to finish things for First Friday in Historic downtown Florence, Alabama. The Patriot Woodworker shop here has been working in overtime.

Last night I finished fifteen cutting boards, three bread boards and 10 cheese boards. My granddaughter was in the shop for a while and picked up some of the cut off pieces and put together two crosses. Man you got to love it when they want to join wood and make a Wooden Cross!

So here are the pictures this morning, I finished at midnight last night and was afraid I wasn't going to make it back in the house before I turned into a pumpkin.

So what are you working on this weekend in your Patriot Woodworker Shop? Are you building a new jig, restoring a new piece of equipment, restoring an old tool, starting your Christmas projects (yea!), preparing for the fall, learning a new skill or just planning a weekend on the couch soaking in all the football, baseball and what ever else is on?

I will be heading out this weekend on a little rust hunt and then it will turn into a full blown road trip. I am heading to Nashville on Monday to relax and seek out new treasures. Then on Tuesday I will be stopping in Cave City Kentucky to meet a woodworker who now runs a shop that build us a cherry bedroom suit 35 years ago. From there to the Lincoln birthplace and then on up to Pleasant Hill Shaker village for a tour and spending the night in the 1812 Inn. Next morning it is off to the Mary Todd Lincoln birthplace in Lexington, Ky and then I am heading into Steve Newman territory to see if I can find those $1.00 items he keeps getting.

Then if you all want tell, I am going to slip in on the Dudleston's in Indiana and see if I can talk Ron and Dorothy into a little rust hunting and picking in there area.

On the way home we plane on stopping in Louisville at Church Hill Downs and check out the track. Many of the winners of the Kentucky Derby can be traced to a couple of horses that were raised about four miles from my home in Alabama.

That is my weekend and extended agenda. What about your agenda. Share with us here at The Patriot Woodworker what you will be doing this weekend. We are always excited to see what others are doing and look forward to seeing those wonderful pictures of your projects.
