October 5, 201312 yr I made an early start on Christmas Ornaments yesterday. The angel is from a pattern by Smitty and the cowboy Christmas ornament is from a pattern I made in response to a request. Stack of 3 each cut from 1/4 inch red oak which was cupped, making the cutting a little tricky. Finished with Deft spray lacquer. October 6, 201312 yr They look good Ron. I do mine out of 1/4 red oak. Started on them tonight in fact. I like to cut singles till I see what they really look like, then move to stack cutting them. I found that danish oil works well for a finish, but have been known to spray them with lacquer too. Nice job on the ornaments.Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
