November 6, 201312 yr Here it is Wednesday again! Got a little turning and finishing done this past week. First, finished up a batch of rolling pins that had been glued up and waiting for quite a while. Sanded and applied a couple of coats of Mineral Oil.  When I make these, I sand them thru 320 grit and the burnish them with the turning shavings. It is amazing to watch the already smooth surface take on a sheen. I’m not sure what would be a comparable sanding grit but it sure is cheaper than using those micro grit foam finishing pads.   I tried to take a video of this but it is not really as dramatic as watching it happen in person.
