A while back, I made a "Chuting Board".  Got a few other uses out of it:

Clamp small pieces to it, and handsaw the pieces to size

Clamp a piece to the jig, and sabresaw a profile on one edge

 

Clamp an apron for a table to it, with a couple of screws to steady things, and mill tenons on the aprons.

 

And of course, finding just the right plane to use as a chuting plane.  

 

Just three pieces of scrap wood.....
