November 29, 201312 yr I do not remember Thanksgiving in Nam. I believe the war kept us busy that day. I do remember some about Christmas Eve. It was quiet, very quiet, unnerving quiet. The stars were really bright. In the quiet, I thought I could hear Christmas music. Soon I was informed that some GI had set up a small FM transmitter and was playing Christmas music. It was then I remembered that I had brought a small FM radio, tucked away in a duffle bag. It took standard D cells and the Army had them. I found it and we were able to listen to music in our bunker, until he shut down. When you are young, 10,000 miles from home and home sick on a very clear, quiet Christmas Eve.......The  music picked up our spirits and made our Christmas eve one to remember.
