December 6, 201312 yr Finally finished up all the Christmas presents, I hope!! Cork Trivets for some of the nurses at my doctor’s office. Collecting corks can be a lot of fun! Magnolia stirring spoon and spaghetti spoon sets for a couple of friends who cook- A walnut pen for a friend in return for the pickup truck load of walnut given to me- Table top wine bottle displays for my brother, sister and close friend. Maple and walnut- A bread Bow Knife for my former shop teacher. Walnut, maple and cherry- that blade is SHARP! Pencil bookshelves for the little neighbor girls. December 6, 201312 yr Author Charles, I removed most of the material with a forstner bit. The used a couple of carving gouges I picked up at a flea market. I bought a Scorp from Woodcraft http://www.woodcraft.com/product/2001825/1305/pfeil-swiss-made-scorp.aspx But the scorp was a little too big for most of the spoons. I need to get/make a smaller one. I sanded the inside with a homemade ball sander on my Dremel tool. The work goes pretty fast if you are using green wood because it is still soft. Hope this helps! Reminds me of the bachelor pad I had with a buddy of mine right after highschool, we had a Christmas tree the first year and we put all our empty beer cans on it, poked the branch through the top opening.
