I don't know about you, but I am pushing hard to get as much done before Christmas as I can. Today I finally got a Cherry and Maple Table I was working on finished and shipped to the customer. I can't wait to hear from them and hope they love it. The table is heading to Vermont.

I got all of the parts cut out a few weeks ago and then cut the mortises and tenons then shaped the legs.

The top is from Cherry I have had drying in the Wood Stash for some time. It has some very nice grain and character.

It has about four coats of Clear Shellac and five coats of General Finishes Enduro Var with sanding between the second and fourth coat on the Varnish and sanding after the third coat and fourth coat of Shellac. Has a very smooth finish.

I will be spraying a Cedar Chest this weekend with Shellac and then with the Varnish for a customer to pick up next Thursday.

Also gluing up a toy chest made of Poplar. I'll post pictures of it as I start the assembly.

Well, John - this first thing on this Friday the 13th is acutely aware of "safety first".  Don't want to be a statistic.

Secondly - Will be putting finishing touches on several Christmas orders to be put in the "mail" on Monday.  I think I'm finally starting to see the end of the tunnel.  Great for the pocket book but hockey sticks on the nerves.

Absolutely nothing woodworking related this weekend. I dropped off a big tub to my wife's classroom filled with 9 large cutting boards, 5 small cutting boards and about 18 trivets as she has a bunch of teachers that want them for Christmas. Whatever is left over after next week will go into my "gift box" to be given out later on to other people. Tonight we have a Christmas party at our home for the people on my wife's Autism Team from her school. We should have around 15-20 people over and we are doing a "Baked Potato and Salad Bar" so it will be pretty low key. Saturday Tami and I will be going down to a ministry conference for most of the day and Sunday I have no clue what will be happening.

After cutting 64 tiny (1/8 thick X 1/2 X 1/2) tenons I'm gonna do a little sanding and assembly of one of the 4 jewelry chests. 

Then, I can measure for the doors.

Tedious it is! Not too mention cutting the 64 ea. 9/16 long pieces of 1/8 brass rod used for "hinge pins". Drop one of those little suckers in the saw dust and you might as well forget it.
