Jerry Savage Posted December 16, 2013 Report Posted December 16, 2013 I don't usually do 3D carvings, but these are not quite 3D so I guess I can still get away with saying that. Turned out one for Mom, Mom-In-Law, and Abuela (G-Ma in Law) and 2 to put at our local Veterans Gallery. Hope you enjoy.
John Morris Posted December 16, 2013 Report Posted December 16, 2013 Those are beautiful G. Savage!!! Nice color, and the work is clean and nice. What type of paint, and did you sand the surface to get the rustic look? By the way I got your images up for ya, go to Uploading Images Into A Discussion to see how you can put images directly into your post, what you did is use the file uploader, you can use that to upload PDF's, Word Docs etc. But to upload and image, just follow the link I provided to see how! And nice work!!! John MorrisThe Patriot Woodworker

Jerry Savage Posted December 16, 2013 Author Report Posted December 16, 2013 John, thanks on both accounts. I'll keep at it til I get it right. I used basic acrylics then sanded the high points to give them a distressed look. I really don't like to use color on wood, but I did each of the "gift" angels in their favorite color. I wanted to make sure the wood still showed, ie the distressing.
John Moody Posted December 16, 2013 Report Posted December 16, 2013 Those are really nice. Thanks for sharing them with all of us. We love to see what other woodworkers are doing.
