Due to inattention, I managed to ruin 3 drawer maple fronts that were glued in place using a rabetted drawer joint.


Determined to not have to totally remake those drawers, I used a household iron to heat each joint, then applied some vinegar and heated it again. After about 30 minutes, all the joints were apart very cleanly. The rest of the drawer parts will be reused.


BTW, the drawer fronts were only 3", 2 1/2" and 1 3/4" high. So it was a bit easier than a larger joint might have been.
