John Moody Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 The beginning of a new year and a time to step up your woodworking. Well for those of you that can get to your shop. Beautiful day here, but cold cold cold. It was 20* when we got up this morning and believe me that is cold and hurts when we are not used to that kind of cold. So I hope you got the heat on and able to get to your shop and spend a little quality time there this weekend. I had my right knee scoped on Tuesday and the first therapy session yesterday. I can say for now, the pain I had before the surgery is gone, just got to get it loosened up now and hopefully I will be good to go. I am walking around the house without any aid just slow. So for me there will not be any shop time this weekend, but I am spending some time on the computer researching some projects that I have coming up. Several things on the schedule for the beginning of the year. I am looking forward to getting back into the shop and get things going again. What about you Patriot Woodworkers, what is on your agenda this weekend, are you cleaning or remodeling the shop, building jigs for up coming projects, cutting stock for upcoming projects and shoveling snow so you can get to the shop, or just staying in the house and watching your DVD collection of The New Yankee Workshop? We here at TPW are interested in what you are working on so please share your projects with us here in the forums. We love to see pictures and tell us about the project. So come on and don't be bashful and share those wonderful projects. We are waiting so come on. lew Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Working on some rolling pin blanks. Just completed a dozen new style holders- need to stop making dust before I can put on the finish. Got the bunk beds for the little neighbor girls drawn in Sketchup. Still need to design the drawer boxes before I can get a close estimate of the materials. Biggest challenge here is to build it so it can be disassembled in the shop, taken up the stairs and then reassembled in the girl's room! Fred Wilson Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 John - glad knee is without pain - I love it when that happens - physical torture should be a breezeLewis, that will definitely be a challenge to re-assemble.Fred - 21 here last night and 4 hours without power certainly cooled the house down - wood burner worked great though. Â Since I finally got all Christmas orders out, it's time to start thinking about the spring show season. Â Maybe I will spend this cold day thinking, or getting resupplied with wood, or making a little sawdust, or maybe I'll just stay upstairs where it is warm.Fredaka Pop's Shopwww.pops-shop.com'Soooooo many patterns - sooooo little time'Scroll Saw Forum Host'Stop complaining about the storm and learn to dance in the rain.'
Larry Buskirk Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Man you Southerners, it was -10° here in Sibera (S.E. WI.) this morning. It's now -3° . The forecast high for Monday is -8°, with wind chills in excess of -35°. Should I send some your way?  Larry Old Woodworking machinery Forum Host
