By the way, the piece in the lathe is made of scrap pieces and I figured someone would ask what is or going to be. It is Walnut, Yellow Hart, Purple hart, Blood wood and any other pieces I could find, all glued up in a nice shaft.  I haven't found a use for it yet, but it was perfect to test my center rest.
