Fisher House FoundationÂ and the producers of A&E's "Ice Road Truckers" have teamed up to create a moving new video titled "A Hero's Story." The video shares the experience ofÂ SSG Dale Beatty, US National Guard (Ret.) and Purple Heart Recipient, and his wife Belinda, as they were confronted with Dale's combat injury in Iraq, his medical recovery and rehabilitation, and the role Fisher House has played in his recovery.

Fisher House - A Hero's Story

"Without Fisher House Foundation, I don't know what my prognosis would have been," says Dale in the video. "I was lucky to have my family around me. If I had to have stayed in a hospital room or in a hotel by myself, who knows what would have happened? It is irreplaceable."

A Friendly Wager

After a friendly wager on the Super Bowl this past Sunday, the Denver Fisher House will be providing families at the Puget Sound Fisher House in Seattle a dinner of buffalo steaks and side dishes.Â

Families staying at both houses gathered to show their spirit and watch the big game.Â

New Year, New Fisher Houses

Groundbreaking

In January, we broke ground on a brand new Fisher House at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina to replace its predecessor built in the early 90s. The new Fisher House will be able toÂ accommodate more families and be closer to the newly constructed hospital.Â Â Â

The new house at Ft. Bragg joins the others already in construction at Travis Air Force Base, CA and in Gainesville, FL.Â
