Beach Box Makers Cutoff Saw

Featured Replies

Okay guys I need a bit of help with this one.

I saw this bench in the back of a building that we were clearing out but couldn't get to it. My son-n-law and his brother got it out for me later and Sunday was the first time I had seen it up close. I know it weights a ton and it still has a motor attached under the top.

It is still in Decatur, I will have to take my trailer back up to load it and bring it home.

I did see this label on the end. I just thought at first it was a nice work bench, but it was obviously more than that.

These are the only two pictures I have of it right now, so you guys got any idea what this was?

I just love finding this old stuff.

Wow, that is awesome John! It would make a cool work bench for sure, but looks like Larry nailed it. I love that beast!

Great call Larry. Where ya gonna put it John.

Wow thanks Larry. I know they had to use a loader to put it on the trailer. It is one heavy monster. When I saw the end of it, I thought it was just a work bench. Adam had to use the tractor to get it off the trailer.

No idea what I will do with it now. May use it in the shop, but it would make a really cool kitchen island.

John, that looks to be in such good shape that a rebuild or restoration may be in order.

It would make an awesome restoration for sure, and relatively simple since most of it made from a comfy medium that John is used to working with to begin with. Very little mechanics? Or at least it appears that way. I'd love to see it restored.

And, a kitchen island would be wonderful conversation piece for sure.

Looks like a great bench and a great find.

I hope to get it home soon so I can decide what I am going to do with it. Who knows, it might be a restoration piece.

John Morris,

A fitting "Blast from the Past" to kick off our "slightly revised" "The Old Machinery Discussion Forum" section!

John Moody,

What did you ever decide to do with this fine old saw?
