Featured Replies

ning-pens-4966-69.jpg?width=750here are a few pens we started turning. 4 of these are spalted hard maple from my fathers property in northern Wisconsin. These are for my parents sister and brother-in-law, the other is cocobolo for my nephew.

John those are outstanding, absolutely cool looking and great quality. The tones are nice along with the discoloration.

What kind of lathe are you turning these on?

right now I'm using Rockler's excelsior lathe. it's a starting point for me and I'm hoping light enough at 100 pounds to take along during camping trips and craft shows. I wonder if the hotels would mind me filling the room with sawdust and shavings?

Fantastic set of pens! Like the variety of woods use, they have pretty grains and figures and great finish. I'm sure they all well appreciated by the your family. Great job!

To know but not to do is not yet to know.

Those look awesome John. I love the spalded Maple. I have got to get busy and get a few turned. I also have a few just stylus kits to turn.

I like the stylus tip on the pen, that will made it very useful today.
