Once I figured out just how to start this plane making a groove, I had no trouble at all getting a full depth cut, right to the bottom of the skate.    No chattering, just a kind of Schweeeesh as it went along.    Still have a few things to do on it, but for now...

This is only a test.

Shouldn't have to use a router to cut grooves again.   And this is quieter than a router, too!

Maybe a shellac finish?   Or, just a wax/oil mix and wipe on/wipe off?   Might even try to fix the horn on the tote, someday..

Wish I had had this plane when I was building that Tool Chest..

Your adventures and all have taken you to places from years gone by. True old school. What a great journey to watch and learn from. I must admit, I understand the addiction. Keep up the great work and posts.

Steve,

I really enjoy your posts about your refurbs. This is the best yet. Bringing that piece of kindling back to usable condition is something to be proud of. Somewhere, Herr Rosenbloom is smiling down on you.
