I'm looking at DC ( finally) .

I gotta say that I am flabberghasted at the numbers Grizz is posting in their 2014 catalog.

Clear Vue and Onida's 5 HP   move less CFM ( are  quieter though) than the Grizz

The SP while running is about the same.  Grizz is more $$ than either  competitor

 but the Grizz filtration is 99.9% at 0.2 - 2 microns and that's pretty good by any measure

It's the sub micron dust ( silica) that destroys your lungs.

The Grizz uses a larger impeller at 18" and larger main intake by 2"

The bigger impeller means more noise. It also means more CFM.

The Static Pressure is all about backflow and Grizz is a little sloppier than the competitors.

What I can't tell from the mere specs is how efficient the Grizz cyclone is at trapping the dust. If it is inefficient then it'll be loading the filters faster.

Cliff are you running any type DC now?

Certainly CFM is important. Any chance you will be running more than one piece of equipment at the same time? I first thought no that will never happen, but it has. I am okay with my Delta as long as I am only running one, but if my wife is running the drum sander and I need to work on planning, you can pretty well forget it.

Also when I put mine in I only ran 4" main duct line and used PVC. I have had no problems with the PVC, but I wish I had run a bigger main trunk and them dropped down to the pieces of equipment.

Just some food for thought.

Oh yeah baby, I cleanse the air with my lungs. Cheap efficient and  disposal of the crud  is a snap.

I can see me with two or more blast gates open at once

I'll prolly build my main line  as a square 1/4" thick ply construction running the spine of my shop hanging from the 19Kip steel I beam that supports the deck above.

I used AC and heating ducting, worked great, 8" main line with 6" drops to 4" to the ports.

I've got this one and love it. Had it for 9 years, using the original fabric bags, no complaints!
