How do you store them?  I Find the little boxes are a PITA and not reliable.

I store mine in the boxes on a shelf in one of my cabinets. I don't have any problems finding them or finding the right size for the project.

You are soooooo right Cliff.  Those cheesy plastic boxes are much good for anything.  I think I waste more pins than I use.

I leave the pins and nails in their boxes and store them in a drawer under the bench. The guns are kept in their cases....unloaded of course.

I guess so, Ron. Mine are cardboard, too. If you're not careful in opening the box, it'll come apart and you've got 1000 pins on the floor. What's worse, the sticks break apart and you end up with several 4 or 5 pin clusters. Maddening.

The ones I bought from Woodcraft- Grex- came in a nice green plastic box. The ones from Porter Cable also have plastic boxes but those are pretty flimsy and don't stay closed. As for the gun, it hangs on the back panel of the work bench. I cap the air inlet with a large electrical wire nut. The wire nut is attached to the gun with a short string so I don't have a chance to misplace it.

Mine are Porter Cable Lew and the lids flat won't stay closed.  I have a peg board behind my bench and the gun hangs nicely off a double hanger.

I bought some small boxes at Hobby Lobby and labeled them and put the pins in those. All of my nail guns are in a drawer. The pins are all in a drawer also.

I have never had a problem. But then again, I have a PC Pin Nailer and I keep it and the pins all in the case and store the case in the cabinet and pull it out when I need it.

Well to be fair  My pins and the nailers are in my fancy schmancy over head fold down storage

So my pin boxes need to be extra secure not letting the pins slip out from  any lid when the bins are swung up and the direction of down changes by 90 degrees.

I have an idea that may work.  May  being the operant term

I put my pin and brad nail strips in small clear plastic food storage containers. these allow me to see the nails, stack the bins, keep them free of dust, and protect them from damage

This is my solution  A foam liner on the lid secures the thing and bays there's a bay for each of the sizes of pins and nails I use. I can load a whole box into a bay and refill when needed.  It fits into the drop down storage where I keep the pin  nailers.

I was sick of seeing the things floating around the shop as I left some here  and there when swapping sizes
