April 17, 201412 yr  I recently sold a block plane on Ebay.   Ok, so far.   Postage was paid, label printed out, but...... "This is to a APO post office"   "Need to print and fill out a Customs form" Click on the "click here".... Can not access.. WTF?   Ok, go over to the local Post office.  Find out they have the forms, that's right FORMS.   back home, label the box, fill out the forms.  Go back to the USPS and.... "Won't scan"   Seems the Ebay bar codes won't work with an overseas label?   New bar codes installed. Postage was the same.  Had two kinds of Customs form filled out, they took the larger one, of course. All of this BS, just to ship a small block plane to an APO in Germany?    WB Germany? Will go back and refine the sellers info "Does NOT ship overseas, PERIOD! The item getting a new home?ain't she cute...... Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
April 17, 201412 yr That's interesting. I print labels to Canada from home and that works fine, or at least did last year 2013. I also sent a pen to an AFB in Japan and that worked by printing it at home. I hope they didn't change things and screw it up. I have not sold anything overseas yet this year.Charles Nichollsnicholls61@att.netProud supporter of The Wounded Warrior Project, Homes For Our Troops and the NRAhttp://www.etsy.com/shop/nichollswoodworks
April 17, 201412 yr Author Since my printer has been out of ink for awhile, been walking over to the local Library to use theirs.  $0.20 a label, ain't too bad.   However, THEIR computer couldn't access the customs forms, for some reason.    So, drive two blocks and pick up the forms for free at the post Office.   Then the bar codes issues.... just not my day...That Kitchen Counter light makes things look like brass or bronze.   lever cap is a Chrome plated shiny thingy....Planer? April 17, 201412 yr eBay recently, within the past 2 weeks, made a change that does something whacky with the international shipping but was intended to make it more affordable for us to sell overseas.
April 17, 201412 yr Author  Suppose to send them to a US postal center, and they take it from there?    I'll just stay in the lower 48s for now,  too many headaches otherwise. Furthest I had to ship before this was the 50th state, cost as much as the Stanley #33 was. About $30 for the plane, and another $30 in shipping.    At the time, I wanted to get shipped there, instead of the plane.  Just couldn't fit in the box, though....Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
