Got it today.

First Impression:

Crappy job drilling the plexiglass  I mean  a stunningly bad job.   They burned the plastic, used no coolant, and set the piece up  for massive stress crazing later on down the road unless (fat chance) they put it through an annealing oven.

Fact is, drilling deep holes manually in plexiglass is a trade skill in itself.  done on a CNC requires thousands of  tiny pecking hits  in and out to let coolant wash the work or you need drills that have coolant holes to get coolant at the point of the cut where the heat is generated.

The Laser cross hairs are not fine by any means. They are a little thicker than a Number 2 pencil lead.

The light does light up the work area.

I may send it back.

Sorry to hear that Cliff, I hate it when I wait in anticipation for something like this to arrive, just to find out it is not a good match for my shop! Bummer.

Bummer. Quality manufacturing and construction techniques would have probably tripled the price.

Well I wrote 'em a query about it asking if they annealed the plexi.  Judging from their utter silence in response to every single one of  the other queries I've sent t hem, I don't expect an answer.

Sorry about your crappy purchase. I've had a few of those, too.

I've had luck just calling them. If the gal that answers the phone can't answer your questions, she always calls in a tech from the back. She's pretty knowledgeable, though.

That's a real bummer Cliff.  I've bought several items from MLCS and their products are normally very good.
