May 1, 201412 yr Ok ladies and gentlemen!!! I've been working on these laser engraved plaques for about 2 weeks or so. The Hines VA jumped though quit a few hoops to get the government to buy me this laser engraver. I'm not a computer wiz so it took me some time and training to Fiqure it out. Still have my issues but I think these 2 plaques turned out retry well . I did them on Poplar wood . They measure 7.25 inches wide by 11 inches long. One plaque is of combat engineer logoand the other is 187th Infantry Regiment.
May 2, 201412 yr Nice Mark!!!!! And good on the VA Hines!!!! Those guys are top notch aren't they? Mark, this is so cool, I do believe you may have found a way to make some money here sir. Set up at craft shows with that engraver, and take orders, do you have any military bases nearby? Great job man!!!
May 2, 201412 yr Author Closet military base is Ft Leonardwod and it's pretty far away. There are some national guard units around though.
May 2, 201412 yr Mark, plant your table at the next big event at your local National Guard outfit, set the engraver on the table, near power of course, have some samples out, perhaps get the guard unit logo wired up in your engraver and you are set to go, a money maker!
May 13, 201412 yr A laser is on my want list, but it's going to be a ways off yet. How hard is it learning to use the thing? Talking to the Epilogue people at the shows makes you think a monkey could do it but I've got a feeling that for me it might be a little tougher.
