May 7, 201412 yr Well the historical pen project is progressing. An interesting side note, to turning the pens, is that the historical society wants some pen display boxes made from the same wood. The boxes are to include the "Carpenter's Marks" used to identify the beams for onsite construction. For myself, I didn't get any lathe time this week. We are in the beginning stages of a bathroom remodel. However, Woodturning OnLine's newsletter arrived and they have a nice write up and instructions on making small coffee scoops. These are Ruth Niles' scoops. Here's a link to the tutorial- http://www.woodturningonline.com/Turning/Turning_content/coffee_scoop_ruth_niles.pdf Ruth has her own line of stainless steel bottle stoppers and they are priced right.
