May 11, 201412 yr Ok, a Stanley 5-1/2 is suppose to arrive tomorrow.   That rehab might take a day, maybe. So, what do I do for the rest of the week.....ahGet a few "parts" together.   Will have to find some square nuts for some 1/4" bolts.   Block and that slat are well seasoned White Oak.   Not sure about that wedge, might make a better one.  That piece of iron?   needs some work....  Stay tuned..... May 12, 201412 yr Author Whew! two hours of sawing, chisel work, and grinding, and all I have done is this???First attemp didn't go as planned, thoughSome dummy still can't use a saw.   Wedge area is too wide.   Used the second blank for the one above.   Different iron. I used a H-F 1" wide skew chisel.   Reground the edge a lot, and then reground it again.   Iron sits at an angle, almost a skew plane.   The escapement hole was chiseled out with a 1/4" wide chisel.   Still have a bunch of stuff to do, yet. A look at the bottomYeah, a skewed iron.   Still need to make a fence for the bottom.  Maybe shape the top a bit more for comfort.   Ten minutes my  a.........
