May 13, 201412 yr Been trying to get this thing finished upBut i still needed to add the guide fence TO the plane. The "plan" was to make two slots, for the bolts to go.   First fence was about two chisel whacks from being done...SNAP.  Plan B then.  Re-do the fence from a second piece of oak, using a 1/4' Forstner bit. Yep, like that.   Bolts are held in the body by two nutsNot the neatest "square holes' but they do work.   Iron was sharpened up, fence set to about 3/8" wide cut.  Small hammer to set things.  Test track of Poplar clamped to the benchThis was after adjusting the depth.  Was just a tad deep.   Found out that this was against the grain of the Poplar, so, I turned the board aroundand we have curlie things.   Still needs a bit more "fettling" and MAYBE a finish on that old oak.  6 hour build.... Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
