July 11, 201412 yr comment_1040  Spent a bit of gas, and a bit of change for today's morning hunt.  Picked a nest of saws, five blades, one handleTwo panel style blades, two keyholes and a backsaw blade. seem to be fairly sharp...lack of use? Sitting beside that was a 24" long, wooden levelEverything seems to work on it. All the screws are there, and all the BrassBrass ends and all.  Stanley SW #3 24" level.  Vials are intact, too. Went to pay for these two items, holding in one hand so I could pay with the other.  lady looked at just the price tag on the saws....$1  SOLD!  Next place in the hunt, there was a funny looking handle sticking out on a table. Pulled the handle out, to find a hacksaw attached to it!All the wat from Darrington CONN, USA mind you. Even has a bit of an etch! Price?  $0.50 All I need to do is start the derusting.   Not too bad for a slow day at the Hunt? For a "Bandit"? July 12, 201412 yr Author comment_1042 Almost forgot, I picked up an UGLY PLAID BUCKET today, for $3Ahhhh,yeah.  Something to ice down the beer in? But wait, there IS moreYou see, it happens to be filled to the brim with all kinds of goodies.  Even a new set of scrollsaw blade clamps, about 40 or so NEW scrollsaw blades. Several screwdriver bits, and a few drill bits, sabresaw blades, a couple of plastic calipers, and an un-opened pack of needle files.  Add in a few boxes of screws. and other hardware....might be worth the $3?? July 12, 201412 yr Author comment_1041 Two updates on the saws:Hacksaw has been IDed  Union Hardware Co.  of Torrington, CONN, USA    Found it's look-a-like on Feebay, BIN price was $1400..........Ooooooooo,Kay....Nest of saws:  Backsaw has a "etch" of sorts,  Large letters inside a box.   ECLIPSE inside the box.   Looks like they were used for just the keyhole saws. Both were bent a bit, and had plaster on them.  The small skew back blade is almost like new, just rusty.  There is a narrower panel saw style blade, also almost un-used.  Both have very SHARP teeth on them.   Backsaw has very small teeth, maybe around 15 ppi or more. Blade is straight, but a bit rusty.   trying to de-rust these blades.  Hacksaw has a very RUSTY blade in it, may get a new one. No, the rusty one is not the OEM one.level: Will have to get with Moody on what colour to refinish it in.  Looks like it was red, at some time.  Do I take the brass cover plates off to clean around the vials, or leave alone? Will do a little looking around about those SW levels. Not too bad a day, but I am beat.  Been back to work, finally, after five weeks on the DL.  Got to work the next four nights, @ 12 hour shifts.  So much for easing back into things...Planer?
