steven newman Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014  That Stanley level i picked up needs a bit of TLC.   Not sure IF it was red painted to start with?Vials need a good cleaning just to see them.  But it is a bit hard to get at them.  Steel screws, polish them up? Should I just strip the body down and add aclear finish.Level is a Stanley SW #3 24" long level.ThanksPlaner? John Moody Posted July 13, 2014 Report Posted July 13, 2014 I use cotton swabs to get to the vials to clean them. I believe it should have brass screws. I don't think any of the ones I have have steel screws, but I need to look and be sure. I have not stripped any of the ones I have. I don't believe any of the No.3's painted. They should have been Cherry. What logo is on the brass cover?
