July 25, 201411 yr Had a bonus.   Picked up a Makita #6217D 12v cordless drill/driver.  With one battery, and a charger....$20.    Got the plastic bag home, got to looking at the charger.....HmmmmI also had an old Makita 6012HD 12v drill/driver. The one with the LONG battery in the handle.  Seemed the profile on the end looked like it would fit the NEW Charger....Tried it out, couldn't hurt..Now, the old charger was toast, failed a long time ago on me.  Would not charge either battery for the 6012HD.    Was looking at some big $$ to either get a new charger or new batteries and a charger.  The batteries are not sold @ the Borg, anymore.  So, after the 6012 battery sat in the new charger for awhile....put the battery back in the drill....IT WORKED!Almost like getting TWO NEW DRILL/DRIVERS.   All for the HUGE price of.....$20?   Yes, they do call me a Bandit, somedays....Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
July 25, 201411 yr Nice Score! I still have one of those long handles Makitas. I think mine is the 9v version. I'll drive about 5 screws before the battery dies. Lew Kauffman-Wood Turners Forum HostTime Traveler and Purveyor of the Universe's Finest Custom Rolling Pins!
