August 13, 201411 yr This is my second ergonomic crochet hook and I have learned a lot. My first attempt came out really good. However, I didn't know exactly where to measure the dia. I measured the shaft at 5mm and that is what I thought she wanted. Wrong. It is the dia at the widest part of the hook. So my first was a 3mm not a 5mm. That worked out fine, because she wanted one of them too. This one has not passed final inspection/try out yet. I figure it will take some more fine tuning. around the hook, It measures in at 4.79mm. With a final coat of poly, it will be close enough. It is 6" long
August 13, 201411 yr I never realized the dimensions were that critical. I used to watch my grandmother crochet but didn't really understand the mechanics and that she must have had different sized "hooks". Nice job!!!
